Entering Colombia
In order to enter Colombia, I needed to take a covid test and have a negative result. You can take either a PCR test within 72 hours before your departure or a antigen test within 48 hours before your departure. I went to an urgent care center close to where I live and decided to take the PCR test. I received my results about 17 hours later through email. Besides the PCR test, I also needed my passport, my vaccination card and the Migración Colombia’s online Check-Mig form I filled out. The check-Mig form should be filled out between 1- 24 hours before your departure.
Exiting Colombia to enter the USA
In order to return back to the USA, I had to take either a PCR or antigen covid test no more than 24 hours before my departure. I went to the Jose Maria Cordova airport in Medellin around 10pm the night before my flight. The process was really quick because there were only a couple other people there waiting to get tested. I decided to take the antigen test. You can’t pay for the test with a card, you have to pay with either Colombian Peso or USD. I decided to pay with USD because I already spent all of my Pesos during the trip. The test came up to $40. If you don’t have any Pesos or USD, no worries, there’s an ATM close to the airport where you can withdraw cash from your card.
I also had to fill out another Migración Colombia’s online Check-Mig form. Just like going to Colombia, the form has to be filled out between 1- 24 hours before your departure. When I checked into Jose Maria Cordova airport in Medellin, Colombia I had to show my passport, vaccination card and my negative covid test.
