When entering Saudi Arabia there are travel requirements. I needed 3 things to enter Saudi Arabia. I needed to show my passport, boarding pass, and eVisa. Before going to Saudi Arabia, I did all of my research regarding their travel requirements, and being fully vaccinated including a booster was required. I was already vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine but didn’t have a booster. About a week before my flight I got the booster shot.
Ironically when I got to JFK, no one asked to see my vaccine card. Then when I got to Saudi Arabia customs to enter the country, my vaccine card wasn’t checked there either. In my opinion, it’s best to call the airport in your country and the airport in Saudi Arabia just to make sure you definitely need the vaccine and booster before getting them.
Steps for getting an eVisa for Saudi Arabia
- Go to: https://www.visitsaudi.com/en/travel-regulations?gclid=CjwKCAiAwc-dBhA7EiwAxPRylDYSu_9shCP-clKhGq9WJGruXCkMSXtMws82PVuTbw2LGMWzc0Pd0xoCx1IQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
- Scroll down to eVisa and visa on arrival, and click on “Apply for eVisa”
- You will then be asked for your passport type and country of nationality. Then click on “next”
- Now you will be registering. You will be asked a few more questions, such as name, email address and create a password. You will also be asked to attach a photo.
- Once you complete the registration process, you will receive an email soon afterward letting you know if your application was approved. I received my approval email about 5 minutes later, but it can take longer. If there’s a problem with your application, you will receive an email regarding that as well.
