Location
Rockley Resort is located in Bridgetown, Christ Church. Conveniently located near a variety of restaurants, boutiques, a supermarket, Worthing Square Food Court, Rockley/Accra Beach and Worthing Beach. The best thing is, a lot of these places are walking distance. Grantley Adams International Airport is also close, it’s about a 20 minute drive from the resort. If you need to take a taxi/Uber while at the resort, put Rockley Club House as the pick up location. They have seats in front of the club house where you can wait for your ride.
Things to do
There are plenty of things to do at Rockley Resort, such as take a swim in the pool, play a couple rounds of golf, go to the Rockley Club House to eat, relax, listen to music, and do kareoke; and take a fitness class.
Hangout at Rockley Club House
I was in Barbados for six days and everytime I went to or waited for my cab in front of Rockley Club House, there was something going on. They had televisions that showed sports, a bar that sells a variety of alcohol and some non-alcoholic beverages, kareoke, and lounge chairs & tables. They also had a bulletin board near the bathroom with things to do and classes to take at the resort.
Swim in the pools
Each section of the resort has their own pool. The pool in my section started at 3ft and went up to around 10ft. There are chairs, tents and tables near the pool, which makes it a perfect place to relax. It’s also the perfect place to work if needed.
Play golf and/or take a fitness class
Play golf at Rockley Golf Club. The Golf course has 9 holes with alternative tees for 18 holes. You can book your tee time on their website or book it at the Rockley Club House.
You can also take a fitness class on the lawn next to the Rockley Club House. For about three nights in a row, I heard music and saw people working out. Each night, it was the same instructor but a different class. The classes don’t come with staying at the resort, so you will have to pay for them.
Monkeys
We arrived in Barbados at 1am in the morning, and didn’t get to our airbnb until around 2am. It was super dark outside, and the resort was so quiet and peaceful. Even though it was early in the morning, we weren’t tired, I think we were excited to be in Barbados so we ended up staying up for a few hours. When the sun started to rise, I looked out my bedroom window and it was so nice to see the golf course. What surprised me is what happened next. My friend came into my bedroom to look out the window and she noticed something moving in the distance. She immediately asked “Is that a monkey?” and a few minutes later a bunch of monkeys ran across the golf course. A couple even ran really close to my window.
That afternoon, we got a dose of the monkeys again. We were on the balcony and they ran pass on the front lawn. It looks like they were going back in the direction they left in the morning.
