Sun, Sea & Serenity: What to see and do in Bequia

Bequia is a small picturesque island located in the Grenadines, known for it’s laid back atmosphere. Even though it’s small, there are a variety of things to see and do in Bequia.

Enjoy the beach

Bequia has great beaches. There’s the Princess Margaret Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches in Bequia, there’s the Lower Bay Beach, which is located pretty close to Princess Margaret Beach, and there’s Friendship Bay Beach which is located in the south of Bequia island.

Go on a hike

If you enjoy hiking, there are plenty of hiking trials in Bequia. There’s the Mt. Peggy which has an elevation of around 800ft, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete the hike. It’s considered moderately challenging. There’s also the Princess Margaret Trail, which is a scenic trail with ocean views. This trail also takes about 2-3 hours to complete, and is considered easy.

Indulge in the many cuisines

There are a variety of restaurants, from Bequia Express Ferry to Lower Bay Beach that serves different cuisines. There’s D’Original Southie Doubles, Bequia Pizza Hut, Laura’s Restaurant, Sugar and Spice cafe, Frangipani Hotel Restaurant and Bar, The Whaleboner Restaurant and Bar, Green Boley Bar, Mac’s Pizza & Kitchen, The Fig Tree Restaurant & Bar, Greenhouse Cafe Bequia, Bequia Plantation Hotel, Jack’s Beach Bar, Dawn’s Creole Restaurant, and much more.

Listen to live music

Coco’s Place Restaurant and Bar, is a hot spot on Fridays. Every Friday night there’s live music for a couple of hours, and then around midnight a dj comes in and it turns into a nightclub. Fig Tree also has live music a couple of times throughout the week.

Relax at a spa

After a full day of activities, spend some time relaxing at one of the spas on the island. The Bequia Plantation Hotel Spa, offers manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, and more. The Serenity Day Spa, offers manicures, pedicures, and scrubs. The Bequia Beach Hotel has a spa that offers massages, facials, and beauty treatments.

Snorkeling And diving

Snorkeling and diving are popular activities to do Bequia. You can book diving courses, diving trips, and snorkeling trips with Dive Bequia, go on a dive adventure with Bequia Dive Adventures, or go snorkeling with Clara Tours. Clara Tours also offers other tours.

Watch the sunrise or sunset

You can watch the sunrise and the sunset while at a couple of the beaches. Friendship Bay Beach and Princess Margaret Beach are known to be great spots to view the sunrise and the sunset. Also viewing it from the mountains is amazing.
