Aruba is known for it’s beautiful beaches, friendly locals, amazing restaurants, and being one of the top destinations for romance and happiness. Aruba isn’t a large island, it’s only about 20 miles long and 6 miles wide, but there’s so much to do and see. I stayed for six days, and everyday I was busy exploring a new place. Here are a few of my adventure highlights in Aruba.
California Lighthouse
California Lighthouse is an historic landmark standing at 98ft tall. Visitors are allowed to enter the lighthouse and walk the spiral staircase of over 100 steps to the top of the lighthouse. The view of the coastline from the top is worth the walk up.
A couple of great things to know is that the staircase is very narrow. There isn’t enough room for two people to walk pass eachother, whether it’s in the same or opposite direction. I had to sit and sometimes stand in the window frames so someone in the opposite direction could walk pass me. Also it can get very windy at the top of the lighthouse. When I opened the door at the top to exit, the wind was pushing me back in, making it hard to exit. Once I made it out, I could barely walk, and I had to hold onto my hat.
There’s also a unique and romantic dining experience for two people at the top of the California Lighthouse. It cost $295 for a 2 hour 3-course meal.

Caves
Arikok National Park is located in Santa Cruz and covers covers about 20% of Aruba’s total land. Arikok National Park has great caves to explore. There’s the Fontein Cave which is know for the ancient Arawak petroglyphs on the cave’s walls and ceilings. There’s also the Quadirikiri Cave that’s known for the opening in the ceiling of the cave that provides natural light into the cave. Click My Experience at Arikok National Park to learn more.

Floating Massage
Aruba Floating Massage offers a variety of couples massages in a private romantic setting… in the middle of the ocean. My boyfriend and I booked the “Blue Waves Embrace” which is a relaxing massage that has a balance between light and medium pressure. Click Aruba Floating Massage to check out all of the massage options.
This was pretty adventurous to me because as stated above, it’s located in the middle of the ocean, so the only way to get there was by boat. The boat ride was only about five minutes. This was the most unique massage experience I’ve had so far. While getting my massage I felt the platform moving back and forth, the wind blowing, and the sun shining.

Jet skiing
Jet skiing in Aruba was definitely unforgettable. The water was a little rough, but that added to the adventure. We booked our tickets on the Skyview Watersports website. It costs $85 for 30 minutes per jet ski. We decided to rent one jet ski so we can ride together, since we’ve never done it together before. I also didn’t really want to drive, and he loves it. So… it worked out perfectly. I also managed to get great videos.

Parasailing
If you’re looking for something adventures that you can either do alone or do with your partner by yourside parasailing may be the adventure for you. I went parasailing many years ago, but my boyfriend never went. We thought it would be a nice and romantic adventure to do together for our anniversary in Aruba.
We decided to go parasailing with Skyview Watersports, mainly because it took place at Palm Beach, and it was pretty close to our Airbnb. We booked our tickets on the Skyview Watersports website, and it was quick and easy. We booked our parasailing tickets and jetskiing tickets at the same time.
Keep in mind, if you want to also book the photographer to get images of your parasailing experience, you have to call the company to let them know. They will let you know what days the photographer will be on the boat, and then you will pay the photographer on the day of your parasailing experience.
