So That Happened: My Money Wasn’t Good Enough for Tikal National Park

It’s story time again! This is Episode 5 of “So That Happened”

I traveled all the way to Guatemala to visit Tikal National Park, one of the largest and most magnificent archaeological sites in the world. But distance didn’t matter, because even though I was there, I was close to getting my entry denied.

For years I wanted to do a multi-destination trip to Belize and Guatemala, and last year, I finally did it. I spent eight days in Belize, island hopping, and two days in Guatemala. I went to Guatemala mainly to explore Island of Flores, and take a day trip to Tikal National Park. Tikal National Park is one of the most known archeological sites in the world, and visitors are allowed to climb to the top of some of the ruins.
