One minute I was minding my own business, and the next… chaos.

It’s story time again! This is Episode 6 of “So That Happened”

I traveled to Peru for a second time, with the ultimate goal of hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. But after a long first day of hiking, reality hit… my friends and I found ourselves hiking in the Andes Mountains at night alone, with no guides in sight.

I visited Peru for the first time in January 2022, with my sister, boyfriend, and a longtime friend. It was a birthday trip for my boyfriend and I (our birthdays are very close). This was my first time traveling internationally, after two years of stopping due to covid. I was extremely excited but also a little wary because of the covid requirements. I originally didn’t want to get the vaccine, but Peru had vaccine requirements to enter any indoor establishment, so I decided to get it.
