Positive events over the past year

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

This past year has been filled with many positive events, as well as a couple of negative. But I love focusing on the positive.

I traveled to six countries.
I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
I started a new job.
I wrote my first guest post.
My boyfriend and I celebrated two years together.
My sister bought her first house, so my mom took a plane for the first time, and I got to experience it with her.

I traveled to six countries

The winter of 2023 started with my boyfriend and I traveling to Thailand, with a stop in Saudi Arabia for our birthdays. Then, in the spring, my friend and I went on a trip to Barbados and then directly to Antigua and Barbuda. Also, in the spring, a group of friends and I went to Peru and then stayed a day in Brazil.

I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

One of the most memorable things I did was complete the 4day/3night Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. It was challenging, but the experience was amazing. At the end of day 1, I didn’t think I was going to be able to complete the hike because of events that took place that day. But I didn’t give up and ended up completing the hike.

I started a new job

I took a risk in December 2022 and quit my job. A job I’ve been doing for over six years. A few months later, I applied to a job ad for a position I really wanted, and after a couple rounds of interviews, I got the job.

I wrote my first guest post

I wrote my first guest post for a great travel blogger A World to Travel. I was super excited when I received the link to my post on her blog. To read my first guest post, check out: Best day trips from Chiang Rai.

My boyfriend and I celebrated two years together

My boyfriend and I celebrated two years together, and those two years were filled with so many incredible moments. This past year we traveled, and tried a variety of new things together. I’ve also grown a lot as an individual and a partner this past year.

My sister bought her first house, so my mom took a plane for the first time and I got to experience it with her

For as long as I could remember, my mom always said, “I’m never getting on a plane.” She also never really been interested in traveling. But when my mom wanted to visit my sister’s new house, which is located in another state, she had to make a decision. She had to decide between taking a long trip on a bus or taking a short flight, and she picked the flight. Experiencing my mom’s first flight was a highlight of my past year. She’s actually open to flying and traveling now. We’re taking another trip soon. Visiting my sister’s house was another highlight of my past year. Buying a house was always a goal of hers, and she accomplished it.
